back on the workout wagon

I haven't had time to get in a proper workout for the past 3 days or so, and I'm feeling incredibly lazy! I know that this will happen on occasion (sometimes it is possible to actually have a social life during the week... madness I know) so I'm trying to think of ways to get little workouts in here and there. Yesterday after work I went straight out for drinks with my co-workers, but when I got to my sister's house later that evening I managed to squeeze in a mini Wiggles dance party workout session with my 2 year old nephew - and I'm sure that counts! I was wearing heels too, lol. I am 100% dedicated to this goal, and having something of an obsessive/addictive personality helps me in the way that I will get things done if I want them to be done. So I've gone from somebody who very rarely got off of her butt and into exercise gear, to being someone who feels lazy if I haven't been for my daily run! I'm looking forward to this afternoon's run, but anticipating it being rather hard, as I'm 3 days out of practice... But in the meantime, I'm going to go watch some more Christmas movies!

How often to you workout? Do you plan your life around your workouts, or try to fit your workout in wherever you can?

christmas shopping: finished!

I managed to get all of my Christmas shopping finished up this afternoon! Well, I still have to buy a box of chocolates - and if my girlfriends and I decide to do secret santa this year I'll have to buy one more small present, but those are no big deal. And the best part? There were so many sales & deals on this afternoon... I'm surprised! 25% off of toys at David Jones, discount on the stuff I bought from Target, and I got a $20 voucher for myself when I purchased some pyjamas for mum at Sussan! Excellent excellent.

I had another lovely surprise this afternoon, a belated birthday gift from some friends in London! But they sneakily included some chocolate (because it apparently tastes better in the UK?! lol) that I couldn't resist this evening... That being said, I only had half, and I still haven't gone over my points for the day. Yay!

starting over - blog wise at least...


I'm starting over with my blog, and hopefully this time I'll manage to update more than once a week!

So here it is, my "before" picture. I'm already 4kg down & on my way, but better late than never.

So what have I learnt during my first month? Snacking, and social situations are my weight loss downfalls. But I've since managed to find healthy alternatives to my afternoon snacking (cherry tomatoes & ww potato bakes instead of biscuits & chips etc.) and learned to steer clear of cocktails & try to order spirits w. diet soda instead. I've also changed my outlook on exercise & look foward to my afternoon workouts now. They help shake the stress of the day & clear my head - and they definately help with a good night sleep!

On top of my physical goals, I have some financial goals for the upcoming year also... I'm tired of being in debt (no matter how small) and I'm determined to pay off my credit card, save up for my trip to New York mid-year & then start saving for my very own house...
